Where Dance & Acting Come Together

Teen Musical Theatre Performance Ensemble

The Teen Performance Ensemble will be focused on the process of putting together a full-length musical. They will learn about voice, choreography, and acting in preparation for being true true triple-threats on the sage. Technique and production aspects will be taught throughout the rehearsal process. Spring session students will also perform numbers at the Dance with Me recital in May.

Ages: 13-18 (if still in high school)

Junior Musical Theatre Performance Ensemble

The Junior Performance Ensemble will be focused on the process of putting together a junior version musical. They will learn about voice, choreography, and acting in preparation for being true triple-threats on the stage. Technique and production aspects will be taught throughout the rehearsal process. Spring session students will also perform numbers at the Dance with Me recital in May.

We are offering a Wednesday group and Saturday group. You will only need to register for one as each group will do its own production.

Intro to Musical Theatre

 Our youngest performers will get their first introduction to Musical Theatre. They will explore the basics of singing, acting, and Musical Theatre choreography. This is a year-long class. Performers will do a showcase of what they have learned in December and a final performance of a short musical in May. Students will also perform at the recital.

Ages: 4-7

Musical Theatre Fall Workshop Series

These one day work shops are great for anyone wanting to grow in their musical theater career. Worship can be completed both virtually and in-person.  Offered for ages 6-12 and for ages 13-18.

Ace the Audition | September 12: What does it take to land a role? From having a good head shot and resume to presenting yourself well to dressing for success, there is so much that goes into a good audition. Learn how to pick the right song and/or monologue, how to do cold readings, and how to sell yourself to the audition panel. 

Looking Spooky! | October 10: Have an interest in stage makeup or just want to look super cool for Halloween? Learn how to make bruises, blood, wrinkles, and more. To get the most out of the experience, participants will be to purchase and bring a make-up kit with them.

Clowning Around! | November 14 An important skill for any actor’s toolkit is the ability to do physical comedy. Learn how to successfully do pratfalls and other physical stunts, slapstick, clowning, basic Mime skills, and more. 

Acting Techniques for the Dance | December 12: Putting together a strong dance performance is about more than just technique. Dancers need to tell a story to the audience with eyes and facial expressions. Learn how to improve your dance performance through basic acting techniques that help performs get in and stay in the moment. Any theater performer can also benefit learning better control over his/her facial expressions.
